About Us
About Us
The Institute of Water Conservation (IWC), also known as Jal Sanrakshan Sansthan, is a non-profit organisation dedicated to protecting and restoring India’s most vital resource: water. Building on decades of hydrogeological expertise and community engagement, we bring together research, grassroots action, and policy dialogue to address the growing challenges of water scarcity and climate change.
We believe that sustainable water management is not only a technical challenge, but a social responsibility and a collective endeavour. Through training programmes, awareness campaigns, infrastructure projects such as rainwater harvesting structures, research, and partnerships, we aim to empower communities, support policymakers, and inspire the next generation to conserve water for the future.
Our Vision
- A world where every community has secure, sustainable access to water, enabling people and ecosystems to thrive in balance with nature.
Our Mission
- To conserve and restore water resources through evidence-based, community-driven solutions.
- To raise awareness and build capacity among agriculture, educational, industrial and infrastrutcure and policymakers.
- To promote innovation and collaboration in water management through conferences, training, and knowledge sharing.
- To support the creation of sustainable water infrastructure — including rainwater harvesting, storm water management recharge systems, and eco-friendly technologies.
